72 year old Lady had an operation done elsewhere 10 years ago in which a Nail was inserted for fracture of femur (Thigh bone). She came to us with severe knee pain while doing her daily activities and had become housebound.
Xray revealed severe Knee cartilage wear (Arthritis). The old nail was too deep inside the bone and would be difficult to remove after so many years of the nailing operation. Thus the conventional knee replacement which required alignment rod to be put inside the bone could not be done in this case.
Due to our Advanced Computer Navigation Knee Replacement facility we could do the Knee replacement without removing the nail and restore perfect alignment.
Now she walks daily to her temple and independently does her daily activities at home.
